Strengthening Early Literacy through Phonics

This year, we proudly enhanced our literacy program with a systematic approach to phonics instruction from Kindergarten to Year 2. The addition of resources like decodable readers has provided our students with a strong foundation, supporting each child’s journey toward becoming a confident and proficient reader. This success was amplified by the enthusiasm and support of our parent volunteers, who dedicated their time to covering new readers and reading one-on-one with students.

Building Confidence with Swim School

Our Year 1 and Year 2 students eagerly embraced Swim School, a highlight of the term. This program not only helps young students learn essential swimming skills but also builds their confidence and independence. Swim School has been a wonderful opportunity to enhance water safety while engaging in fun and active experiences with friends.

Celebrating Tradition with the Nativity Performance

Our cherished Pre-Kindergarten to Year 2 Nativity performance is always a highlight, and this year is no different. The students have been practicing enthusiastically, eager to share the story of Jesus’ birth with the community. This beautiful tradition brings us together to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas and creates special memories for students and families alike.

Supporting the Community with Toys ‘n’ Tucker

In partnership with Anglicare, we are participating in the Toys ‘n’ Tucker initiative to share joy with families who may otherwise go without this holiday season. This program offers a meaningful way for our community to demonstrate compassion and love by providing gifts and food to those in need. We invite everyone to join us in contributing to this heartwarming cause. Further information will be communicated with our Junior School parents/carers shortly.

Welcoming New Students for 2025

This term, we welcomed our new students for 2025 during Orientation events for Prep, Kindergarten, and Years 1 - 6 students. These sessions gave incoming families a chance to explore our College, meet teachers and staff, and get to know future friends. We’re thrilled to welcome these new faces into our community and look forward to seeing them thrive at Arndell.

A Heartfelt Thanks to Parents and Educators

We extend our deepest gratitude to our parents/carers and educators who have been integral to our community’s journey. Parents/carers, thank you for your partnership and support, which enrich our students’ learning experience. And to our dedicated teachers, your care and commitment to each child’s growth are deeply appreciated.

As we conclude this remarkable year, we reflect with gratitude and joy on the experiences we’ve shared and the progress our students have made. We look forward to another inspiring year of learning and growth for our Pre-K to Year 2 students in 2025.
